Hi Everyone, I have lived most of my life in Africa as a missionary and development worker. I met a great Australian lady 25 years ago and we have settled in Melbourne. My overseas work has continued. I work with crop breeders who have come up with new crops that are higher in nutrition. I get agricultural programs going in developing countries to scale-up these crops to help the poorest get out of poverty and eat more nutritious food. My favorite crop is the new wheat in Pakistan which is higher in iron and zinc than the normal wheat. I travel 4 months a year often to war zones. The scariest places I go are South Sudan and Afghanistan. My favorite place to go is Gaza because I get to spend the weekends in Jerusalem. I’ve been on crutches for 10 years from a rare spinal cord problem but people help me wherever I am. I go where few foreigners can go and see what no one else sees so I feel very lucky. There are now many parts of Africa and Asia that I know well, and from 30 years of experience it is easy for me to help farmers. I am not looking forward to retirement and hope my work will never end. After traveling the world I realize that Glen Rock was actually a great place to grow up and I am really lucky twice over. I suspect this reunion will not work out for me but I wish you all a wonderful time.
